I am sorry for being away for quite a long time but some other things have been keeping me busy lately and I have struggled to find time for crocheting. At the beginning of May we had a family vacation in Alanya which is a nice beach resort city in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. We escaped the cold Estonian spring and enjoyed hot and sunny days, warm and cosy evenings, nice surroundings and great food that Turkey had to offer. Additionally my older daughter graduated from pre-school and I volunteered to be the leader of the organizing committee. I can't believe that my little baby starts school already! All these things are done now and I hope to spend during the summer much more quality time with my crochet hooks that have been sitting lonely in a basket on my desk. I have a new free pattern coming your way soon as well! Today I will show you a little amigurumi dog that I made as a custom order.

I have a customer who always asks me to make tiny animals as gifts for her friends and family. She has ordered my amigurumi animal key chains and I have made her some tiny kittens, too. This puppy is special because I made it based on a real dog with a fancy name - Dorotheya Joycelyn. She sent me the picture and asked me if I could make a tiny dog looking similar to that. I am always ready to take on any challenges, so I agreed to try. My goal was not to make a lifelike toy dog but to "amigurumize" it. I crocheted him a bigger head and made the whole shape rounder than the real thing. I tried to replicate the colours of the face as accurately as possible and also gave the dog a little brown patch on the back. I really enjoyed working on this project and it turned out really cute.

The puppy went to meet her new owner in a small flowery gift box that I decorated myself.

I hope to see you soon again, until then have a great summer!
Loodan teid varsti jälle kohata, seniks aga ilusat suve!
Thank you for making such a beautiful puppy, where can I find the pattern?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am glad you like the puppy. Unfortunately I do not have the pattern for it, it was a custom order toy.
